Can you give me a little background about the history of Dove products?

Dove is owned by Unilever, one of the world's largest producers of consumer packaged goods, household products, foods and beverages, personal products and specialty chemicals.

1940's - Formula developed for Dove Bar during World War II as a non-irritating skin cleaner for pretreatment use on burns and wounds. Receives increasing recognition for its mildness.

1950's - The basic Dove Bar formula was refined and developed into the Original Dove Beauty Bar.

1960's - Dove Beauty Bar made available nationwide.

1970's - An independent clinical dermatological study proved Dove Beauty Bar milder than 17 leading bar soaps.

1980's - Dove Beauty Bar became number one physician-recommended cleaning bar.
Unscented Dove introduced.

1990's - Dove Beauty Wash introduced. The Dove commitment to providing superior mildness, as compared to soap, continues.

1995 - Dove Moisturizing Body Wash, Dove Sensitive Skin Bar, Dove Facial Care Cleanser, Dove Facial Cleaning Scrub, Dove Facial Care Daily Moisturizer.

1999 - Dove All Day Moisturizing Body Wash.

2001 - Dove anti-perspirant and deodorant line introduced.

2003 - Dove hair care line, the first utilizing weightless moisturizers, debuts in January.

2004 – Dove introduces its Campaign for Real Beauty.
